We produced and co-curated the Ashé visual art exhibtion by artist Lester Mccollin Springer (AKA springercuba).
Lester was born in Cuba and is now living in the UK. He is a professional visual artist and a member of the prestigious UNEAC
(National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba).
Lester's art is mainly figurative, very symbolic and is regarded as an embodiment of Cuban black history, culture and resistance. He pays tribute to his Afro-Caribbean heritage and to the African Diaspora. He uses colours and textures to paint human beings, their emotions and quest for inner truth, exploring culture and values such as equality, freedom and justice through his experiences.
Ashé was co-curated with Paola Brambilla
